Keyboard Shortcuts Reference
Speed up your design workflow by learning Flowmo's keyboard shortcuts. Instead of reaching for menus and toolbars, you can navigate the canvas, manipulate elements, and switch tools in a fraction of the time. This page lists every shortcut available in the Designer, organized by category.
Prerequisites
- A project open in the Flowmo Designer
- Familiarity with the Workspace Modes and Layers Panel
Canvas Navigation

Move around your canvas and control what you see without leaving the keyboard.
| Action | Mac | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| Pan (hand tool) | Hold Space + drag | Hold Space + drag |
| Toggle sidebars | Cmd + \\ | Ctrl + \\ |
| Toggle grid | Shift + G | Shift + G |
Tip: Hold Space and drag to pan freely around your canvas. Release Space to return to your previous tool automatically.
Selection & Layers
Select, group, and reorder the elements on your canvas.
| Action | Mac | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| Select all elements | Cmd + A | Ctrl + A |
| Group selection | Cmd + G | Ctrl + G |
| Ungroup selection | Cmd + Backspace | Ctrl + Backspace |
| Move layer forward | Cmd + ] | Ctrl + ] |
| Move layer backward | Cmd + [ | Ctrl + [ |
| Disable Deep Select | Hold Cmd | Hold Ctrl |
What is Deep Select? By default, clicking an element selects the deepest child in the layer tree. Hold Cmd/Ctrl to override this and select the top-level parent instead -- handy when you want to grab a group or frame without drilling into its children.
Element Manipulation
Copy, paste, duplicate, cut, and delete elements on your canvas.
| Action | Mac | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| Copy | Cmd + C | Ctrl + C |
| Paste | Cmd + V | Ctrl + V |
| Cut | Cmd + X | Ctrl + X |
| Duplicate | Cmd + D | Ctrl + D |
| Delete | Delete / Backspace | Delete / Backspace |
| Resize from center | Hold Alt while resizing | Hold Alt while resizing |
Tip: Paste in Flowmo is smart -- if your clipboard contains AI-generated content, it will be recognized and handled automatically.
Nudging & Movement
Fine-tune element position and size using your arrow keys.
| Action | Mac | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| Move by 1 px | Arrow keys | Arrow keys |
| Move by 10 px | Shift + Arrow keys | Shift + Arrow keys |
| Resize by 1 px | Cmd + Arrow keys | Ctrl + Arrow keys |
| Resize by 10 px | Cmd + Shift + Arrow keys | Ctrl + Shift + Arrow keys |
Tip: Combine Shift with arrow keys when you need to reposition something quickly but still want pixel-level keyboard control.
Creation Tools
Jump straight into a creation tool without clicking the toolbar.
| Action | Mac | Windows |
|---|---|---|
| Text tool | T | T |
| Frame tool | F | F |
| Rectangle tool | R | R |
| Path / Pen tool | P | P |
| Pencil tool | Cmd + P | Ctrl + P |
| Eyedropper | I | I |

Tips
- Most shortcuts mirror tools like Figma and Sketch, so your muscle memory carries over.
- The Command Palette (Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Space) is the fastest way to find any action when you forget a shortcut.
- Use Shift + Arrow for quick 10 px jumps while keeping keyboard precision.
- Press Escape to exit any active tool, close a modal, or leave preview mode.
- Hold Alt while resizing to scale an element from its center rather than from a corner.
