Expose a group’s inner inputs/outputs as typed sockets, then decide which fields appear on its regular collapsed card. Wizard mode uses the same exposed-input list as its complete set of questions.

Key ideas
- Exposed Inputs / Outputs: The group exposure editor lists the group’s exposed Inputs and Outputs. “Add” creates a new exposed socket; each row has a name field and a type picker.
- Per-socket type: The type dropdown offers Text, Image, Video, Audio, Voice, Layer, Compose, Mask, Design System, CSS, PDF, HTML, 3D Model, HDRI, Bundle, and Any — with a colour swatch matching the handle colour.
- Connection gating: The chosen type colours the group’s handle and drives type compatibility — incompatible types can’t connect (with a few sensible exceptions like Any as a wildcard).
- Regular collapsed card fields: The eye toggles “Show on card” for each exposed input/output. Drag rows to set their order and cycle S / M / L to size the field or preview tile on the collapsed Group.
- Wizard questions: Step-by-step wizard pages every exposed input, not only those marked “Show on card”. This lets an input stay off the compact regular card while remaining a required wizard question.
Steps
- Select a group node to open its exposure editor.
- Under Inputs or Outputs, click “Add” (or edit an existing exposed socket).
- Give the socket a name, then pick its data type from the type dropdown.
- Use the eye to choose which sockets appear on the regular collapsed card; drag to reorder and use S / M / L to set their footprints.
- If you enable Step-by-step wizard, organize the complete exposed-input list into pages; fields hidden from the regular card are still included.
- Wire the group’s typed handle to matching nodes on the canvas.
FAQ
Does hiding a field from the collapsed card remove the group socket?
No. “Show on card” only controls the regular card presentation; the exposed socket still exists for wiring and still appears as a wizard question when Wizard mode is enabled.
