Understand how the full-page Media and Design system workspaces differ from Brain context, which comes into Designer through the picker, mentions, pins, saved research, and record tools.

Key ideas
- Media is the project’s creative asset room: The Media page collects image, video, and audio work, generation history, editing doors, and model choices. References, aspect/shape, output settings, and visible cost labels remain attached to the generation request instead of disappearing into a generic prompt.
- Brain supplies reusable structured context: Brain records such as brands, products, characters, places, personas, and other saved items can be browsed and mentioned. A record-part mention narrows the context to the relevant field rather than dumping an entire record into every request.
- Design system is project-pinned context: A project can use one of your saved design systems or create one from a site/image. The selected system supplies tokens, typography, components, and visual references to builds; generated or revised systems remain explicit resources rather than invisible prompt text.
Steps
- Add or open Media when you need to generate, inspect, edit, organize, or insert project images, video, and audio.
- Choose the media kind, model route, shape, output settings, and explicit frame/style-reference mode supported by that route; review the visible quote before running.
- Add or open Design system to inspect examples, components, foundations, theme, and parameters; save the system and explicitly apply it to the project.
- Open + → From your Brain to browse records in the full picker. Mention a record for one message or pin stable context so it accompanies every turn.
- Use # or / after a Brain mention to target one record section, field, or file, and choose separately whether the record’s pictures should be message assets.
- Use Designer chat to build with the selected resources, then review the rendered result for actual adherence rather than assuming attached context was followed.
- Use Save to Brain after completed research when the result should become reusable structured knowledge.
Which surface opens where
- Media is a native hosted Designer page with gallery, stage, generation, edit, insert, and library actions.
- Design system is a native hosted Designer page with eighteen examples/components/foundations/system sections plus save, apply, and CSS export.
- Brain is not a Designer page and is not a right-dock tab. Use the dashboard Brain, the full From your Brain picker, mentions, pinned records, record-part targeting, and Save Research.
Resource boundaries
- Media items are files and generated results.
- Brain records are structured reusable knowledge such as brands, products, personas, characters, places, and research.
- Design systems are reusable visual rules, tokens, components, examples, and parameters.
- A mention identifies context but does not grant access; a pinned record persists until unpinned; applying a Design system is explicit.
Assistant operations
- Media: generate_image_asset, generate_video_asset, generate_audio_asset, edit_image_asset, review_media.
- Brain: list_records, search_records, read_record, write_record.
- Design system: set_design_system_brief, derive_design_system_from_reference, check_design_system.
Tips
- Mention the smallest useful Brain part and the exact media take. Precise context improves control and reduces irrelevant prompt weight.
- Use deterministic editors for crops, annotation, layer work, and timing fixes rather than paying for a full regeneration when the source is already right.
Limitations and important notes
- Media and Design system hosted pages replace the normal iframe canvas and do not expose device widths, Fields, or the timeline.
- Designer has no Brain page type or Brain right-dock tab.
- Resource access, editing, and writing remain governed by the project and record roles.
- Attaching or pinning context guides work but does not prove the generated result conforms; inspect and review it.
Troubleshooting
Brain is missing from Add page or the right dock.
This is expected. Open + → From your Brain, type @ to mention a record, use pinned context, or browse Brain from the dashboard.
A page ignores the chosen visual system or record.
Confirm the Design system is applied or the Brain chip is resolved, target the exact tokens/record part in the instruction, and run the relevant review.
