Before you start
- You need permission to create a project in the current workspace. Paid generation still checks your plan and Sparks when the work runs.
Key ideas
- The two starts create different hosts: Let flowmo direct creates a standalone Designer project. You direct creates a Flowgen project with a Designer node, so choose it when the design belongs inside a connected flow rather than as the primary project.
- Type and shape are separate choices: Designer has twelve visible page types. Video, Ad, and Media also accept an aspect preset; responsive document types instead open at a device width.
- The first-turn handoff is explicit: The start flow carries the selected type, editable brief, attachments, Brain context, design system, model, thinking effort, agent mode, Media sub-kind, and aspect into the destination. A blank brief opens a project without buying an automatic build.
Steps
- Choose Let flowmo direct for a standalone Designer project, or You direct for a Flowgen canvas already containing a Designer node.
- Pick the deliverable: Landing page & website, Reel & video edit, Ad, Slide deck, Animation & motion, Document & research, Wireframe & mockup, HTML email, Live dashboard, Logo, Media, or Design system.
- If you chose Video, Ad, or Media, select Landscape 16:9, Portrait 9:16, Square 1:1, or Portrait 4:5. Other page types keep their responsive or fixed-stage contract.
- Edit the proposed brief so it names the audience, content, constraints, desired output, and what must not change.
- Attach files by role, choose durable Brain or design-system context, and review the model, thinking effort, and Design/Plan/Ask mode.
- Create the project. If the brief is blank, open the Designer composer and send the first request when ready; if a first turn was seeded, verify its chips before it runs.
- Confirm the project opens in the expected host: /designer for a standalone project, or Flowgen for a You direct outcome.
- After the first build, verify page type, aspect/device, design system, files, and active assistant mode before expanding the project.
What each dashboard path offers
- Let flowmo direct exposes all twelve Designer page types and creates a standalone Designer project.
- You direct offers eight outcomes: Slide deck, Ad, Brand images, Immersive webpage, Studio portraits, Animation & motion, Reel & video edit, and Design system.
- Brand images and Studio portraits open Media; Immersive webpage opens Landing page & website.
- Every You direct outcome starts as a Flowgen project with an editable Designer-node brief.
Media choices at creation
- Media asks for Image, Video, Music, Voice, or Sound effect.
- Video, Ad, and Media default to a type-appropriate aspect but let you choose another supported preset.
- The assistant mode and Media sub-kind are one-shot start intents; they are not permanent project properties.
Tips
- Choose the host first. Promoting a node later is possible, but it is an explicit relationship and pull-back workflow.
- Start with one representative page or placement, approve the visual system, then add variants.
Limitations and important notes
- Changing dashboard work mode does not migrate existing projects.
- You direct does not create a standalone Designer project.
- A selected model or design system can be remembered in this browser without becoming an immutable project setting.
Troubleshooting
The new project opened in Flowgen.
You selected a You direct outcome. Return to the dashboard and use Let flowmo direct for a standalone Designer project.

A blank brief intentionally creates without generation. Open the Designer chat, choose Design, and send the first instruction.
