Create and find Designer projects from the dashboard, choose whether flowmo or you directs the start, carry files and resources into creation, and understand the difference between standalone projects and Flowgen-backed Designer nodes.

Key ideas
- Designer is its own project category: Designer projects use the clay Designer identity in the dashboard, appear under the Designer filter, and open at /designer?pid=…. They are not hidden under Flowgen even when a Flowgen Designer node can create or link to one.
- Account mode and project surface are different: Let flowmo direct, You direct, and Creator mode describe how the dashboard helps you start. They do not convert an existing project. Choosing one resets the user’s f0Chrome and flowgenChrome defaults, but an existing project-specific override still wins.
- Two directing paths create different hosts: Let flowmo direct can start a standalone Designer project across all twelve page types. You direct exposes eight outcome cards and creates a Flowgen project containing a Designer node, so the canvas relationship is present from the beginning.
- Start context survives creation: The selected type, shape, editable brief, file attachments, Brain context, Design system, model, effort, and media intent are seeded into the destination rather than being flattened into an untraceable prompt.
Steps
- Choose Let flowmo direct, You direct, or Creator mode as your dashboard preference. Change it later without expecting existing projects to be rewritten.
- Choose Let flowmo direct when you want the assistant to select from all twelve Designer page types, or choose You direct when one of the eight concrete outcomes already matches the job.
- In You direct, choose Slide deck, Ad, Brand images, Immersive webpage, Studio portraits, Animation & motion, Reel & video edit, or Design system. Remember that this path creates a Flowgen project with a Designer node.
- Set the shape for Video, Ad, or Media when the start composer exposes it. Attach relevant files, pick Brain context or a Design system, and review model/effort before creating.
- Edit the generated starting brief instead of treating the card’s example as a locked template. A blank start creates the project without spending for an AI build; generation is a later action.
- Use the Designer project filter to find standalone Designer projects. Open a project card to return to its current active document; project identity and collaboration state persist.
- Use the project card’s allowed management actions for the current role, including sharing and organization. Deletion moves recoverable projects to Trash; permanent deletion is explicitly separate.
- When a Flowgen editor card is promoted, use Show in Flowgen to find the source and Pull project edits to copy approved output back. Pulling is explicit, relationship-checked, and requires downstream reruns.
Dashboard work modes
- Let flowmo direct (stored as autopilot) — outcome-first composition with the Designer type shelf and flowmo-led start.
- You direct (stored as assist) — guided creation with eight explicit outcome cards.
- Creator mode (stored as control) — the full folder/filter/sort/grid-list project-management view.
- Choosing a work mode also resets the two user editor defaults; per-project f0 and Flowgen overrides remain independent and take precedence.
Let flowmo direct
- Can resolve all twelve visible Designer types.
- Creates a standalone Designer project and opens /designer?pid=<project id>.
- Can carry a brief, attachments, Brain context, Design system selection, model, effort, media kind, type, and aspect into the first turn.
- A brief may queue the start intent; a blank project opens without an automatic build.

- Every option creates a Flowgen project with a Designer node and an editable preset brief.
Project lifecycle and collaboration
- Designer filter and clay accent distinguish the project type.
- The card route opens the current Designer project; old legacy records with no recognized type may still open the earlier external Designer.
- Roles determine whether a collaborator may edit, comment, share, organize, or delete.
- Project card actions, folders, Archive, Trash, Restore, and permanent deletion follow the shared dashboard lifecycle.
- A premium crown describes the type/action; entitlement and Sparks are checked when paid work runs.
Tips
- Choose the host before creating: standalone Designer for a primary multi-page design project; You direct/Flowgen when the design belongs inside a larger connected automation.
- Attach only durable inputs you want available in the new project, then mention narrow Brain parts in later turns.
- After pulling a Designer result back to Flowgen, rerun every dependent node and inspect its fresh output.
Limitations and important notes
- Dashboard mode is not an automatic project migration.
- Promoted projects do not live-sync every edit to their source node.
- A project card may hide actions the current role cannot perform.
- Moving a project to Trash is recoverable; permanent deletion from Trash is not.
Troubleshooting
My new project opened in Flowgen instead of standalone Designer.
You chose a You direct outcome. Those eight cards intentionally create a Flowgen project with a Designer node. Use Let flowmo direct or the standalone Designer creation path for /designer.
The Designer filter does not show a linked Flowgen canvas.
The source project is still typed as Flowgen. Open it through Flowgen, or open the promoted Designer project card if you created one.
Pull project edits is unavailable or rejects the pull.
Open the linked source card and confirm the relationship has not become stale or mismatched. Promotion never grants blanket write access to an unrelated node.
