Give the native Video AI composition, playhead, selection, files, and project context; let it make deterministic revision-safe edits; then inspect and refine the result.

Key ideas
- The assistant sees editor context: A turn can include the active composition, frame, selected layers, current-frame image, attached files/links/project assets, connected design system, and prior conversation. Removing a chip excludes that selection/frame context from the turn.
- AI edits the same native document: It reads stable IDs and the document revision, then applies undoable validated commands with an operation ID, expected revision, and preconditions. It does not author a parallel flattened video.
- A shot board precedes complex work: For a brief, the assistant plans requested subjects, footage beats, edit rhythm, graphic motif, copy, audio, and final state, then builds and checks that progression rather than substituting interchangeable title cards.
Steps
- Select the composition and, when helpful, the exact layers and frame the request concerns.
- Open AI or choose a contextual Ask AI quick start. The split-button indicator continues pulsing when a turn runs while the rail is hidden.
- Attach references or project assets by the correct role and leave Attach current frame on when visual state matters.
- State the delivery shape, duration, exact copy, required footage/subjects, edit progression, brand constraints, audio intent, and what must remain unchanged.
- Let the assistant read the document/project before writing. For broad work, ask for a shot board and a coherent first draft before micro-polish.
- Inspect the activity and tool receipts. Use Locate to return to the affected frame/layers, and answer an approval question when a paid or ambiguous action pauses.
- Review sampled frames for layout/copy/crop and motion samples for jumps or dead holds; play the sequence for rhythm, sync, and velocity.
- Give a focused repair request naming the frame/range/layer and defect. Use Undo when the direction is wrong instead of compounding it.
- Export and inspect the delivery artifact before accepting the work.

Tips
- Ask for one coherent edit with explicit beats before requesting isolated visual tricks.
- Use revise_compositor_text for copy-only changes and revise_compositor_typography for focused type changes so unrelated animation/paint stays intact.
- For repeated structures, request a native repeat pattern rather than source-code loops.
Limitations and important notes
- Hiding the rail does not stop a running turn; use Stop.
- HTML/GSAP import supports a bounded translation subset and does not execute arbitrary scripts.
- AI success receipts are not visual or temporal acceptance.
- Model rounds and paid media generation check sign-in, plan, and Sparks.
Troubleshooting
AI changed the wrong layer.
Undo, select the intended layer, keep the selection chip, and name it in the repair request.
Imported motion is incomplete.
Use supported declarative HTML/CSS/GSAP fields and class targets; arbitrary scripts or unmapped runtime behavior are intentionally not executed.
The AI indicator is pulsing after the rail closes.
The turn is still running by design. Reopen the assistant to follow it or press Stop.
