Once you’ve defined collections and bound your design, switch to Content mode to actually manage the content. It’s a built-in mini-CMS: a dashboard of entries, a form editor per entry, and a live preview of your design filling with that entry’s data.
Where: Top bar → Content (appears for projects with collections) — Switch to Content mode
Key ideas
- Dashboard: Every collection with its entry counts (published/draft) and a recent-entries list; create, open, duplicate, or delete entries.
- Entry editor: A form per entry — name, slug, homepage flag, and a control for each field (text/wysiwyg/image/gallery/date/relationship/…), plus repeater rows you add/remove. Toggle Draft ⇄ Published.
- Live preview: The bound page renders beside the form and updates as you type — each field value flows into its bound element (text/image/background/link/visibility). Link a page if none is set.
Steps
- Define collections + bind elements first.
- Switch to Content mode (the Content toggle in the top bar).
- Pick a collection and add/open an entry.
- Fill the fields — watch the preview update — then set it Published.
Entry editor and live preview
- The dashboard is collection-oriented: use it to create, open, duplicate, or delete an entry and review published/draft counts.
- The entry editor exposes metadata (name, slug, homepage flag) plus controls selected for each field type; repeater fields have their own add/remove row controls.
- The live preview applies the current entry data to the page bindings as you edit. Link a page to the collection if no bound page is available, and use full preview to check the rendered result.
Publishing and data binding
- Draft and Published are entry states; switching to Content mode does not itself publish the website.
- A field’s binding determines where its value appears: text/content, image source or background, link, color, alt text, custom attribute, visibility, or a repeated template.
- Check the preview after changing a relationship, repeater, or visibility value because the result depends on the page’s existing collection bindings.
Tips
- Name entries and slugs before publishing so URLs and collection lists remain understandable.
- Preview at the page’s responsive breakpoints after changing long text, galleries, or repeater rows.
Limitations and important notes
- The editor can only populate fields and render bindings that have been defined for the collection and design.
- Publishing an entry and publishing the site are separate operations.
Troubleshooting
The preview does not change when I edit a field.
Confirm that the selected page is linked to the collection and that the element is bound to the field you changed.
An entry is missing from the public site.
Check the entry status and the site’s publishing state separately; a Draft entry is not the same as a published page.
