The Assets tab in the left rail is your project's own library — every file you have uploaded or generated. Click an asset to drop it on the canvas as an input node, or drag it exactly where you want it.
Where: canvas → left rail → Assets — Open the Assets tab
Key ideas
- One of the rail's three tabs: The left rail holds Add (everything you can create), Assets (everything you already have) and Comments. The icon strip stays visible even when the panel is collapsed, so any of the three is one click away.
- Click or drag to place: Clicking an asset creates the matching input node — Image, Video, Design System, Section or HDRI — wherever placement decides. Dragging it onto the canvas puts it where you let go.
- Canvas exports open as a new canvas: An exported canvas stored as an asset does not become a node. Clicking it adds it to this file as a new canvas, which you then switch to from the header's canvas picker.
- The panel keeps its place: Switching to Add or Comments and back does not reset the Assets browser — its folder, scroll position and search survive, because the panel stays mounted rather than being rebuilt.
- Reveal current generation: The selected node/sidebar can open Asset Manager directly on the saved file behind the active generation, including results outside the initially rendered asset window.
- Drag adds; click inspects: The asset browser now uses drag to place/add an asset on the Flowgen canvas and click to select/inspect it. This avoids accidental node creation while browsing.
- Organize the library: Durable names/deletes, tags and tag filters, and prompt-driven organization make generated and uploaded assets manageable. Less-common actions live in the item overflow menu.
- Motion is a reusable asset type: Motion recipes can be saved, named, imported, and applied as first-class Assets. Designer also assigns explicit roles so placement assets, references, and motion are not confused.
- Saved base64 becomes a real asset: Media embedded in an older/saved flow is promoted to the durable asset store instead of remaining a large fragile inline string.
Steps
- Open the Assets tab in the left rail (the images icon in the icon strip).
- Browse or search for the file you want.
- Click it to drop the matching input node onto the canvas, or drag it to place it exactly.
- Drag the rail's right edge if you want more room to browse; the width is remembered.
- Click to inspect and rename/tag an asset; drag it onto the canvas when you want a node. Use the overflow menu for secondary actions and the organization prompt for a larger cleanup.
Additional asset kind
HTML Files contains actual .html/.htm uploads and generated raw markup files; it stays separate from structured HTML Page and HTML Section assets because their available actions differ.
Current browser behaviors
- Names survive refresh and deletes remove the durable record.
- Tags are searchable/filterable.
- Prompt organization proposes/applies library structure.
- Drag creates the corresponding canvas input at the drop point.
- Click opens selection/inspection instead of silently adding.
- HTML page/file assets drag into an HTML Source node.
Library cleanup
- Empty folders are hidden.
- Motion assets participate in normal organization/filtering.
- Dragging versus inspecting preserves the asset role.
- Inline base64 promotion reduces project size and improves recovery.
Lazy previews, scoped search, and deep reveal
Asset tabs and tiles load what is needed for the visible view. Stored thumbnails avoid repeatedly fetching original media just to draw a card. Scoped search, dragging a search result, and revealing deeply nested lazy-loaded assets are corrected. Design-system revisions remain associated with the generating node’s asset folder.
FAQ
How is this different from a Stock Image node?
The Assets tab holds media you own — uploaded or generated in this project. A stock node searches an external library. Both end up as nodes on the canvas that downstream nodes can read.
Where did the Stock & Media slide-out go?
It was retired with the bottom Add-Node bar that opened it. Stock media is now the Stock library section of the Add tab.
