Choose the right flowmo workspace for the outcome, understand how dashboard work modes affect the start, and know when to move between connected workflows and direct visual editing.
Where: Dashboard → Work mode switch, New project, or a recent project card.
Key ideas
- Flowgen connects the work: Use Flowgen when inputs, AI generation, editing, review, routing, batches, automations, and exports should remain connected as a reusable canvas.
- Designer directs a complete visual project: Use Designer for a multi-page design with its own chat, page types, media workspace, Brain context, design system, review, sharing, and export.
- f0 Websites and f0 Video are direct editors: Use f0 Websites for a responsive page/site and f0 Video for time-based editing when direct visual control is the main job. Both editors can also open inside eligible Flowgen nodes.
- Dashboard modes change guidance, not files: Let flowmo direct, You direct, and Creator mode change the dashboard layout and default editor chrome. They do not convert or relocate existing projects.
Steps
- Start on the dashboard and choose the work mode that fits today: Let flowmo direct for an outcome brief, You direct for a prepared outcome card, or Creator mode for full project and folder controls.
- Choose Flowgen for a connected workflow, Designer for a multi-page visual deliverable, f0 Websites for a responsive site, or f0 Video for direct timeline editing.
- Name the project and add only the durable context it needs: files, Brain records, a design system, or a clear brief.
- In Flowgen, add or ask for nodes, connect typed sockets, run the smallest useful branch, and open an embedded editor only when the result needs direct visual work.
- In Designer, confirm the page type, shape or device, art direction/design system, and assistant mode before asking for a broad build.
- In f0 Websites or f0 Video, choose Focus for a reduced editing shell or Studio for the full panels and direct controls.
- Preview the real target—responsive widths, exact artboard, or timeline playback—before sharing, exporting, publishing, or running downstream nodes.
- Return to the dashboard to organize, share, back up, archive, restore, or reopen work. Switching dashboard modes never changes project content.
Quick chooser
- Connected pipeline, batch, route, automation, or several AI steps → Flowgen.
- Deck, ad campaign, motion piece, media workspace, design system, or mixed page-type project → Designer.
- Responsive website/page with direct HTML/CSS/design editing → f0 Websites.
- Timeline-first direct video edit → f0 Video.
- A website/video/section/3D/ad editor needed inside a pipeline → an editor-backed Flowgen node.
How the surfaces work together
- Flowgen can open f0-backed editors inside supported nodes.
- A Flowgen Designer node opens Designer as its own same-window project surface.
- Designer Media and Design system pages are native hosted workspaces, not ordinary HTML canvases.
- Brain records and design systems can be selected at creation and reused later without pasting the same context into every prompt.
Tips
- Start with the smallest surface that matches the deliverable; add Flowgen when the work needs repeatable connections.
- Use canonical project names before making many outputs so dashboard search and recent projects stay useful.
Limitations and important notes
- A dashboard work mode is not a project type.
- Changing an editor view does not change the document model or generation quality.
- Publishing, exporting, sharing, and saving a reusable Marketplace item are separate delivery actions.
Troubleshooting
I opened the wrong editor.
Return to the dashboard and create the intended project type, or use the matching editor-backed node in Flowgen. Changing a project view does not convert its type.
