Render your video to MP4 (or WebM) with selectable quality, FPS, render target (a breakpoint), output resolution, audio mix, and optional burned-in captions.
Where: Top bar → Video → Export Video (⌘⇧E) — Open the Export Video dialog
Before you start
- Finish scene order, duration, audio, captions, and the breakpoint/aspect ratio you intend to deliver.
Key ideas
- Format & quality: MP4 (H.264) or WebM (VP9); Low/Medium/High quality; 24/30/60 fps.
- Render target & resolution: Pick a breakpoint and an output resolution preset (480p–4K) or custom WxH.
- Audio + captions: Mix timeline audio with a master gain; optionally burn captions into the video.
Steps
- Open Export Video from the Video menu (or ⌘⇧E).
- Choose format, quality, fps, render target, and output resolution.
- Toggle Include Audio (+ master gain) and Burn Captions if needed.
- Click Render; download when it finishes.
Render choices
- Format: MP4/H.264 for broad delivery or WebM/VP9 where that workflow is supported.
- Quality and frame rate: 24, 30, or 60 fps with low, medium, or high quality.
- Target: choose the exact breakpoint/composition and an output from 480p through 4K, or enter a custom size.
- Audio and captions: set the master gain and decide whether captions are burned into the pixels.
Delivery checks
Play the downloaded file outside the editor. Confirm its duration, resolution, first/last frames, audio loudness, captions, and aspect ratio before uploading it elsewhere.
Tips
- Render a short representative section before a long or 4K final.
- Burned captions cannot be disabled by the viewer; keep captions separate when the destination supports subtitle tracks.
Troubleshooting
The result has the wrong crop or aspect ratio
Reopen Export and confirm both the render target breakpoint and output width/height; changing only one may not select the intended composition.
