Mix the active video timeline to MP3, AAC, Opus, WAV, or FLAC in the desktop app, with control over bitrate, sample rate, channels, and master gain.

Before you start
- Audio export currently requires the desktop app.
Key ideas
- Format follows destination: MP3/AAC/Opus suit compressed delivery; WAV/FLAC preserve more fidelity for editing, archiving, or downstream processing.
- Encoding controls: Compressed formats expose bitrate, while sample rate and mono/stereo channel choices should match the destination workflow.
- Master gain is final-stage level: Master gain changes the mixed output; it does not replace clip-level balancing, fades, or ducking inside the timeline.
Steps
- Finish clip timing, mute/solo state, fades, and relative levels in the video timeline.
- Open Export Audio in the desktop app and choose the delivery format.
- Choose bitrate where relevant, 44.1 or 48 kHz sample rate, mono or stereo, and master gain.
- Export and listen to the whole file outside flowmo using normal headphones or speakers.
- Confirm start/end silence, peaks, dialogue clarity, channel balance, metadata/format acceptance, and file size before delivery.

Limitations and important notes
- Exporting audio does not include the visual track or burned captions.
- A high master gain can clip a mix that is already near full scale.
Troubleshooting
Export Audio is unavailable
Use the desktop app and confirm the active video composition contains timeline audio.
The exported file clips or sounds distorted
Reduce master gain and fix overly loud individual clips before exporting again.
