In an existing scene-based Video project, each scene has a layer timeline with start/end times, trim points, and per-property keyframes. This is not the native Video Editor Edit/Composite timeline.
Where: Existing legacy Video project → scene timeline (bottom) — Select a scene to show its timeline
Key ideas
- Layers: Text, image, video, and audio layers stack in z-order with start/end and trim (in/out) points.
- Keyframes: Per-property tracks animate x/y/opacity/scale/rotation/size at specific times.
- Auto duration: The timeline can auto-grow from the rightmost layer end, or be locked explicit.
Steps
- Select a scene; its timeline shows below the canvas.
- Add a layer (text/image/video/audio) and set its start/end.
- At a given time, add keyframes for the properties to animate.
- Scrub or press Play to preview.
System clipboard and shared presets
Timeline keyframes use the system clipboard, so later copies in other apps take precedence. Focus and Studio share searchable motion presets with duration and Clip edge/Playhead placement. Negative keyframe handling and first-frame sets after timeline construction are corrected.
