Insert is the home for adding things to your page: a searchable panel of Basics (shapes/text/media/3D/code), Sections and Pages (templates), Interactive/Forms/Embeds, Icons, Plugins, and AI generators. Click or drag onto the canvas.
Where: Left rail → Insert (or the top-bar create menu) — Open the Insert panel
Key ideas
- Categories: Basics, Sections, Pages, Interactive, Forms, Embeds, Icons, Plugins, AI — plus Scenes in video mode.
- Search & preview: Search across everything; templates/interactive items show live previews.
- How to add: Click or drag a tile onto the canvas; some open a picker or panel (plugins, AI).
Steps
- Open Insert from the left rail (or the create menu).
- Pick a category or search.
- Click or drag a tile onto the canvas.
Categories are surface-aware
- The Insert panel includes Basics, Animations, App Form, Sections, Pages, Scenes, Marketplace, Interactive, Forms, Embeds, Icons, Plugins, and AI; website/video-only groups appear only where relevant.
- The top-bar Create menu is another entry point, but it is not a duplicate of every left-sidebar panel.
- Marketplace tiles open the marketplace flow; plugins and AI tiles may open their own panel or guided workspace rather than inserting a plain element.
Search, preview, and placement
- Search across available items when the category is unclear, then use a preview where one is available.
- Click to add items that are designed for direct insertion; drag tiles to control placement when the tile supports canvas dropping.
- After insertion, inspect the new element in Layers and the right sidebar; templates, interactive items, and AI-created content may need additional configuration.
Tips
- If a tile opens a chooser instead of appearing on canvas, complete that tool’s selection step and then inspect its result.
Limitations and important notes
- Not every tile is a simple canvas element; some launch a panel, template picker, plugin, or AI flow.
