Preview mode has two pointer modes. Select lets you click elements in the live preview to edit them in the sidebar; Interact runs the page for real so links, forms, and scripts work.
Where: Preview toolbar → Select / Interact — Enter Preview, then choose the mode
Key ideas
- Select: Click into elements to edit them without leaving preview (an iframe bridge relays the click back to the editor).
- Interact: The page behaves live — links navigate, forms submit, scripts run.
Steps
- Enter Preview from the top bar.
- Choose Select to click-and-edit, or Interact to test the real page.
- Switch back to Design when done.
Select mode is for editor inspection
- Select mode uses the preview/editor bridge so a click in the rendered page selects the corresponding element for sidebar editing.
- Use it when the canvas is visually dense or when you need to inspect an element in its live layout context.
- Switch back to Design when you are finished editing through the preview.
Interact mode is for real behavior
- Interact mode lets links navigate, forms submit, and page scripts run as they would for a visitor.
- Use it to test behavior, not to edit a selected element; switch back to Select when you need the editor bridge.
- Avoid submitting real customer data or triggering external actions while testing a production-connected form.
Tips
- If a click unexpectedly navigates, confirm the toolbar is in Select rather than Interact mode.
