Use the saved Website to Reel app card to choose a live or f0 website, or build a video reel around your own clips, then review the setup before starting.
Where: Open the Website to Reel group/app card on a Flowgen canvas and choose Start; reopen it later to edit the saved answers.
Key ideas
- A three-step setup saved on the group: The wizard saves answer changes to the Reel group as they are made, so closing it does not discard the setup. Step 1 chooses Website reel or Video reel, the source and purpose; step 2 sets the reel direction and sound; step 3 summarizes the choices and lets you jump back to edit them before making the reel.
- Website reel and own-footage video reel: A Website reel uses either a live website address or a Website Editor, Lite Editor or project website node on the same canvas. A Video reel is built around footage uploaded from the computer or selected from the current project; an optional live or f0 website can provide its look and pieces. Uploaded clips require an open project in an organization.
- Source, format and creative choices: Step 1 asks what the reel is for, where it will be posted (LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram or TikTok), and how the site moves (detect, scroll, autoplay or mixed). Step 2 offers 15/20/30/45 seconds or a custom 5–120 seconds, feel, call to action, voice, music, storyboard review and whether the produced draft should wait for the person or proceed automatically when checks pass.
- The two review gates are different: “Review the storyboard first” pauses before filming so the person can inspect and approve the board; “Let me review the draft” is the later gate before voice/music production. Automatic production applies only when motion and layout checks pass; a failed check still leaves the draft waiting for review.
Steps
- Open the Website to Reel app card and select Start. Choose Website reel or Video reel. For a Video reel, upload clips or pick videos from the project; for either path, choose a live address or an available f0 website when appropriate.
- Add the purpose, posting destination and site-motion choice. A live URL is checked for a title/icon when possible; if the check cannot read it, the agent can still open the site itself.
- Choose length, feel, call to action, voice and music. Voice options can be searched and filtered by gender/accent, previewed, or set to No voice-over. Music can be scored, omitted, or selected from project assets/uploaded from the computer. Choose the storyboard and draft review gates deliberately.
- Review the complete Step 3 summary, use its Edit links to correct any answer, then choose Make the reel. The saved group answers configure Brief and Produce and wire the selected site, footage and custom music before the group run starts.
- When the storyboard is ready, inspect its panels in the linked reel editor and approve it before filming if that gate is enabled. Later inspect the moving draft and approve before Produce if that gate is enabled. Open in editor is available from the review/done card; use the Storyboard’s Edit in Video Editor control for edits that should survive reel revisions.
- After production, preview or download the MP4 from the app card. For native timeline work, open the Storyboard-owned reel document in the Video Editor; use a Video Render/native export route when you need a rendered file.
Limitations and important notes
- The f0 website picker only lists website/documentEditor, liteEditor and project nodes on this canvas. A live URL is not a saved f0 website node.
- Uploading personal footage or music requires an organization-backed project. The upload card reports failures; confirm that the assets were actually added.
- Automatic production is conditional on checks passing and does not bypass the storyboard gate. Review settings are saved with the group.
- The revision-safe Video Editor is the one opened from the Reel Storyboard’s own “Edit in Video Editor” action: its saved edits are logged against stable reel layer/composition IDs and replayed onto later reel builds when those targets still exist. A separate composition copy (for example the Produce output or a separately wired Video Editor node) is outside that revision owner and is not covered by the Reel Storyboard edit log. If a target layer/composition disappears in a rebuild, the edit is reported stale rather than forced onto a different target.
- The app card’s quick Preview window is read-only; changes there are not kept. Use the Storyboard-owned editor for edits that must persist across revisions.
