Use Assist for conversation/direct work or Plan & Build for a reviewable multi-step graph, while keeping the host model and Flowgen tools responsible for execution.

Key ideas
- Assist: Ask questions, diagnose the current graph, or request focused changes with the active canvas as context.
- Plan & Build: Stage and edit a multi-step plan before canonical Flowgen tools create, connect, configure, and—with approval—run nodes.
- References and context: Canvas selection, attachments, Brain records, Marketplace/private retrieval, and named existing nodes give the agent concrete reusable context.
Steps
- Open Agent in the bottom workspace and choose Assist or Plan & Build.
- Describe the outcome, constraints, existing nodes/Brain records to reuse, and whether expensive runs should wait.
- Review/edit the plan or inspect each direct tool action and canvas change.
- Validate connections and outputs from Activity/the canvas before asking the agent to continue or run the full flow.
MCP host behavior
When Flowgen is controlled by an external MCP client, the host should use its own model to call Flowgen tools directly. It should not relay reasoning through the in-app assistant as a second model layer.
