Scan selected research platforms for ranked trends around a topic or vertical, bounded by period and optional region.
Where: Flowgen → Add → Research → Trend Scan
Key ideas
- Topic and platforms: The topic or vertical defines the research subject; platform chips choose where the scan looks.
- Time and geography: Period is 7, 30, or 90 days. Region is optional and should be named when a local market matters.
- Report plus structured trends: The node keeps a readable report and emits ranked structured trends for another node to filter, compare, or turn into a brief.
- Trend Scan card: TrendScanNode uses the generic shared-card path. Scan selected platforms for ranked trends around a topic over 7/30/90 days and optional region.
- Properties sidebar: researchNodes.tsx
- Opened surfaces: Structured result preview
Steps
- Enter a specific topic or vertical and choose the relevant platforms.
- Choose 7d for current movement, 30d for a working campaign window, or 90d for a broader pattern; add a region when needed.
- Run the scan and review the evidence behind the ranked results, not only the labels.
- Connect the report or structured trends to ideation, planning, or a later analysis node.
Trend Scan controls and presets
- Add path: Flowgen → Add → Research & Insights → Trend Scan.
- Card: TrendScanNode.
- Properties: researchNodes.tsx.
- Controls: Topic/vertical; platforms; period; region; save dataset.
- Opened surfaces: Structured result preview.
Tips
- Use a recognizable market phrase rather than a very broad category.
- Compare more than one period before calling a short spike a durable trend.
Limitations and important notes
- Results reflect the selected sources, period, region, and their available data; they are not a complete view of every platform.
Troubleshooting
The results are generic
Narrow the topic, choose fewer relevant platforms, and name the region or audience whose behavior you want to understand.
