Use Make for one specific node or output, Agent for conversational or planned graph work, and the left rail for structure, activity, Brain, assets, reusable flows, comments, and prompt packages.

Key ideas
- Make: Choose one creation action, write the prompt, attach/select references, choose a compatible model, and place/run the resulting node.
- Agent: Switch the same bottom control into Build or Plan mode for multi-step work with the full canonical Flowgen tool catalog.
- Left rail map: Outline and Activity are read surfaces; Brain, Add, Assets, Comments, Draw, canvas controls, Flows, and Prompt Library cover creation, review, memory, and reusable starting points.
Steps
- Click Assistant in the Flowgen left rail to open the in-product Agent. Use the bottom Make composer when you want to create one known node or output directly.
- Choose Assist for direct questions/changes or Plan & Build when you want an editable staged graph plan before it is executed.
- Describe the requested outcome, existing nodes to reuse, inputs, constraints, and what must not change. Let the agent inspect the actual canvas before it edits.
- Keep node prompts source-backed: flow-specific prose belongs in a connected Text source; reusable brand values should come from the linked project Brand’s compatible field, not copied text.
- Review planned node types, destination fields, routes, approval points, generated content, and any paid operation before approving execution.
- Use Outline to navigate graph structure and Activity to see work/progress. Use Brain, Add, Assets, Comments, Flows, and Prompt Library for their labeled resources.
- The assistant panel opens from the left rail. MCP has no command to open this in-product panel; external hosts use their own model with the direct Flowgen tools.
- Inspect the finished noodles and node outputs. New repeated work belongs in Items/List + List Iterator + Results List—not Group Repeater or Batch.
Make versus Agent
- Make: one direct action or node, with model-aware options and typed references.
- Agent Assist: conversational help and direct edits; open it from Assistant in the left rail.
- Agent Plan & Build: create a staged plan, edit/reorder it, then approve construction.
- The external MCP client uses its host model to reason and calls Flowgen tools. There is no MCP tool that opens the in-app assistant panel.
Source and execution safeguards
- A prompt helper creates/updates a connected Text source; it is not an invitation to store prose in arbitrary node props.
- Use a live Brand field binding for content already owned by the linked Brand.
- Creating a graph does not authorize a paid run, external publish, or destructive shared-record write.
