Use the bottom Make bar to choose a concrete action, attach compatible references, select a model, and add a ready-to-run node to the canvas in one transaction.
Where: Flowgen bottom bar → Make
Before you start
- Open an editable Flowgen canvas. The action needs either a brief or at least one valid reference before Generate is enabled.
Key ideas
- Action first: Pick the output you want—image, video, text, audio, website, or another surfaced action—so the bar can show only relevant reference inputs and models.
- References are typed: References can come from existing nodes, the current selection, uploads, URLs, or text, and each is assigned to a compatible input such as start frame, style, audio, or source.
- One committed node: Generate creates the node, its bindings, placement, prompt, model, and run request together instead of leaving a partially configured card.
- Preflight generation settings: A Settings control after the model picker exposes model-supported image Aspect/Size/How many or video Length/Aspect/Size before the node is created.
Steps
- Choose an action chip or open the action browser.
- Write the brief and use + to add the references required by that action.
- Choose a model and review the reference rows again; unsupported reference types are removed when the model changes.
- Press Generate or Cmd/Ctrl+Enter, then inspect the created node and its output.
Reference behavior
- The available rows follow both the chosen action and the selected model.
- A reference to an existing node creates a real graph connection to the new node.
- Changing action/model can remove references that no longer have a compatible input; the bar reports the removal.
- The collapsed bar preserves the draft, references, selected action, generation state, and Agent conversation.
When to use Make
Use Make when you know the one output/node you want. Use Agent when the request needs research, several connected nodes, routing, iteration, or a plan that should be reviewed before building.
Which controls appear
- Universal Image: Aspect, Size, and How many when the selected model offers more than one valid choice.
- Video Generation: Length, Aspect, and Size when the selected model accepts those parameters.
- Web, text, sound, logo, and other actions do not show a decorative empty settings menu.
Overrides stay honest
Only values changed from the node default are written. Switching model keeps a choice both models support and drops a choice the new model rejects; the settings button displays how many non-default overrides are active.
Tips
- Set delivery-critical ratio, size, count, and length before Generate so the first paid result is usable.
- Recheck the settings count after changing model.
Troubleshooting
Generate is disabled
Choose an action and add a brief or valid reference. Also check whether the selected model supports the reference slot you are trying to use.
