Install the current desktop build for local editor integrations and supported desktop rendering.
Where: Dashboard or Account → Download desktop app
Before you start
- Mac builds currently target Apple silicon. Windows builds target x64 on Windows 10/11 and are labeled beta.
Key ideas
- Platform download: The download surface selects the available build for the supported operating system/architecture.
- Desktop capabilities: The desktop runtime supplies local integrations such as supported full local video rendering and editor automation connectivity.
Steps
- Open the desktop download action.
- Choose the build for your platform.
- Install and launch it, then sign in to the same workspace.
- Reopen the project and choose desktop/local actions only when the app reports them available.
Mac
- Download flowmo.dmg from the dashboard/account action.
- Open the DMG and install the Apple-silicon desktop app.
- Launch and sign in to the same flowmo workspace.
Windows beta
- Open the Windows information page and download the x64 installer.
- The current beta is not yet signed with the Windows publisher certificate.
- If SmartScreen appears, choose More info, then Run anyway only when the installer came from the official flowmo download page.
Limitations and important notes
- Windows may show “Unknown publisher” for the current beta.
- Do not use a Mac Apple-silicon build on Intel Mac hardware.
- Desktop/local rendering actions appear only when the compatible app/runtime is available.
Troubleshooting
Windows blocks the installer
Confirm it came from the official flowmo download surface, open SmartScreen’s More info, and choose Run anyway. If the source cannot be verified, do not install it.
