Understand the redesigned dashboard’s three purpose-built layouts, where projects and resources live in each, which controls intentionally disappear, and how to switch modes without changing project content.
Where: Dashboard → three-stop Work mode switch; first visit → “How do you wanna work?” chooser.
Key ideas
- One account choice, three real layouts: The visible choices are Let flowmo direct, You direct, and Creator mode. They are not cosmetic labels over one project grid: each mode changes the dashboard shell, creation surface, navigation density, project scope, and which management controls are visible.
- The switch is navigation, not conversion: The three-stop track stays reachable from the dashboard and uses a single sliding selection. Choosing a stop writes the user work-mode preference and changes the dashboard layout; it does not convert, regenerate, move, or delete existing projects.
- Guided layouts remove management noise deliberately: Let flowmo direct shows a simplified recent-project view. You direct now follows the standard sidebar’s current folder or team scope and preserves Archive/Trash behavior. Creator mode adds the complete type, sort, and grid/list toolset.
- Resources remain reachable through different doors: Projects, Marketplace, Design systems, Brain, Fonts, Media, Purchases, and account settings remain available, but the sidebar-free Let flowmo direct rail and the standard dashboard sidebar organize them differently.
Steps
- On the first dashboard visit, choose Let flowmo direct, You direct, or the Creator mode link. The chooser cannot be dismissed until the account has an explicit current-mode value.
- Use the three-stop Work mode switch to move later. On wide layouts it sits in the true center of a three-column header; on smaller layouts it remains reachable in the compact header/strip.
- In Let flowmo direct, write or paste the outcome brief in the unified composer, attach files/Brain/design-system context, choose page type/model/effort, and use the clay type shelf or examples before submitting.
- Use the narrow desktop rail in Let flowmo direct for Create, Home, Projects, Templates, Brand, Brain, More, and Account. Open More for Fonts, Media, My purchases, or Image editor.
- In You direct, choose the intended folder or team from the standard sidebar, then choose one of eight violet outcome cards. The card creates the prepared Flowgen/Designer workflow; there is no preliminary brief bar on this surface.
- Use Projects, Marketplace, and Design systems tabs in the guided layouts. Each layout remembers its own last tab when browser storage is available, and inactive tabs do not stay mounted.
- In Creator mode, choose the workspace/folder in the standard sidebar, then use project-type pills, Search, Most Recent/Name sort, and grid/list controls. Archive and Trash intentionally hide/reset the type filter.
- Use the New project split action from any mode. Its primary action follows that shell, while the dropdown exposes Website, Video, Flowgen, and Designer when offered.
- If a resource view opens the standard sidebar shell from Let flowmo direct, return to Projects/Recent projects to re-enter its dedicated sidebar-free shell.
Let flowmo direct layout
- Stored work-mode id: autopilot.
- No standard DashboardSidebar around the Projects view.
- Desktop-only 88px icon rail; compact screens retain creation/import/mode actions in the header.
- Header: centered work-mode track, Import, Marketplace, and New designer project split action.
- 1000px main content column with an 880px unified composer.
- Clay Designer accent, page-type shelf, examples, and first-step guidance.
- Projects scope: all recent projects, newest first; search and grid remain, folder/type/sort/list controls are omitted.
- Projects / Marketplace / Design systems tabs; Marketplace is scoped to Designer listings.
- Rail Brand opens Design systems; Brain opens the full Brain view; More forwards to Fonts, Media, Purchases, and Image editor.
You direct layout
- Stored work-mode id: assist.
- Uses the standard dashboard sidebar and a one-line centered switch/New flowgen project header.
- 1000px content column and 880px outcome panel.
- Eight violet cards: Slide deck, Ad, Brand images, Immersive webpage, Studio portraits, Animation & motion, Reel & video edit, and Design system.
- Picking a card is the complete start gesture and opens an already-wired Flowgen Designer workflow.
- Projects scope follows the current standard-sidebar folder or team; Recent projects is the fallback. Search and fixed grid remain.
- Projects / Marketplace / Design systems tabs use a You-direct-specific remembered-tab key.
Creator mode layout
- Stored work-mode id: control.
- Uses the standard organization/team/folder/assets dashboard sidebar.
- Centered work-mode track with the New flowgen project action in the same header row.
- 1000px project column with promoted work and First steps.
- Sticky project toolbar appears below creation: project-type pills with counts, Search, Most Recent/Name sort, and grid/list.
- Folder header exposes rename/settings when the current role owns that container.
- Archive opens original editors; Trash cards do not open and instead expose Restore/Delete permanently.
Shared presentation behavior
- The Spark balance badge remains visible across dashboard modes and shifts clear of the Let flowmo direct rail.
- The dashboard waits for the current user/project refresh and shows a full skeleton instead of stale mixed-account cards.
- Responsive headers preserve the current view title and sidebar trigger on mobile.
- Project cards, access roles, spend gates, share behavior, and document content do not change merely because the shell changes.
Tips
- Use Let flowmo direct for an outcome-first start, You direct when you recognize the deliverable card, and Creator mode when finding/organizing existing work is the main job.
- Use the standard sidebar in You direct to change folder or team scope. Switch to Creator mode for type, sort, and grid/list controls.
- Use search before assuming a project disappeared. Let flowmo direct shows recent work; You direct follows the current sidebar scope.
Limitations and important notes
- The Let flowmo direct icon rail is desktop-only; compact screens use the header and forwarded views.
- Let flowmo direct omits folder scope, type filters, sorting, and grid/list switching. You direct follows sidebar scope but keeps its simplified fixed-grid surface.
- Remembered tabs and per-project view overrides depend on browser storage; privacy-restricted sessions may fall back to defaults.
- Creator mode has no special claim to better generation quality; it exposes more management and editor controls.
Troubleshooting
My folder filter disappeared after switching modes.
Let flowmo direct intentionally shows recent projects. In You direct, choose the folder or team in the standard sidebar. Switch to Creator mode for type, sort, and list controls.
The same project appears in a different place after switching.
The project did not move. Let flowmo direct shows recent work, while You direct and Creator mode follow the selected standard-sidebar scope.
The first-run chooser keeps returning.
Legacy simple/advanced uiMode values count as unanswered. Make one current three-way choice and allow the user preference write to complete.
