Run the AI operations currently wired by the Flowgen Image Editor host, preview candidates, and commit the chosen result as an editable layer/document change.

Key ideas
- Five host-wired jobs: The current node host wires AI Fill, Erase, Restyle, Extend Canvas/outpainting, and Remove Background in composite or selected-layer mode.
- Several entry points, one session: Use the AI panel, the floating bar over a supported selection, Generative Fill Brush, or Extend Canvas. Attached reference images are shared across the editor session.
- Candidate preview: Generated candidates can be previewed over the selection bounds without committing them to history; Use this commits the selected result.
- Gated generation: The Flowgen node host applies Spark availability and currently routes these image operations through Gemini 3.1 Flash Image execution.
- Remove Background hands off to selection: After the non-destructive mask is created, Refine with Object Select traces that exact matte into a pixel selection and switches to the live hover/click tool without rerunning removal.
Steps
- Select the intended layer and create the smallest accurate selection/mask for the change.
- Choose Fill, Erase, or Restyle and write a bounded prompt; attach reference images when style or identity context matters.
- Run and preview candidate results in the canvas before committing.
- Use the selected candidate as a new/changed layer, inspect edges and context at high zoom, then refine with masks or local tools.
- For outpainting, extend the canvas first; for background removal, choose composite or layer mode deliberately.
- For a nearly-correct background removal, click Refine with Object Select, hover/click to add missed objects or Alt-click to subtract unwanted regions, then apply the final selection back to a mask/edit.
Choose the removal source
- Composite (whole scene): use context from the flattened document, then crop the resulting alpha back into the selected layer mask.
- Layer pixels only: analyze the selected raster source directly for cleaner isolated-layer edges.
- Refine with Object Select: keep the produced mask as the starting selection and correct object membership interactively.
Tips
- Use a tight selection with enough surrounding context for blending.
- Keep reference roles clear: subject, lighting, palette, texture, or style.
- Commit one change at a time so History remains useful.
Limitations and important notes
- AI operations consume the configured generation entitlement and require host availability.
- A preview candidate is not part of the document until it is committed.
- Generated edits require review for identity, text, factual detail, edges, and rights.
Troubleshooting
AI changed pixels outside the intended region
Undo, refine the selection/mask or use Generative Fill Brush for a more precise silhouette, then rerun.
A candidate looked correct but disappeared
Preview is transient. Choose Use this to commit the candidate before closing or starting another operation.
