Render a Layer Compose, flat video, or native document/composition to MP4 or WebM using the available browser, desktop, or cloud target, then add, replace, or download the result.
Where: Flowgen → Add → Export → Video Render; select the node for the Export Video properties panel
Key ideas
- Three source paths: Connect Layer Compose, Video In, or Document / Composition. Native documents can additionally expose scene, breakpoint, desktop, and configured cloud controls.
- One shared settings UI: The compact card and roomier Export Video sidebar use the same RenderSettingsFields for target, codec, quality, FPS, resolution, scrub, audio, captions, encoder, motion blur, and estimate.
- Result-first actions: The rendered preview opens in lightbox and offers Add to canvas, Paste to Replace when a design-canvas selection exists, and Download in the rendered format.
Steps
- Connect Layer Compose, Video In, or Document / Composition.
- Choose the render target and, for a native document, the intended scene and breakpoint.
- Set format, quality, FPS, output resolution, scrubbing, audio/gain, captions, and any advanced encoder/motion-blur fields.
- Render, review the complete output, then add it to canvas, replace the selected canvas element, or download it.
Limitations and important notes
- Layer Compose and flat-video sources use the browser path.
- Desktop requires the f0 desktop bridge; Cloud requires a configured render worker.
- Cloud currently ignores scrub/GOP control and shows a warning.
FAQ
What format is the rendered video?
An in-browser WebM (VP9, video/webm;codecs=vp9). The ⋯ → Download saves a .webm file; uploaded copies are registered under the 'videos' asset folder.
Why is the Render button greyed out?
Rendering needs a connected composition with at least one layer. If 'Connect a Video Composer' shows, wire a composer into the Composition In handle first.
Does it include sound?
Yes — standalone audio layers and video layers with volume > 0 are mixed via an AudioContext and muxed into the WebM. Each layer's volume and trim are respected.
