Choose the Image Layers engine that matches the desired output: Bria for structured ad reconstruction with editable or exact text, Qwen for tunable layered documents, or Seedream for independent cropped assets without placement coordinates.

Key ideas
- Structured Ad · Bria preserves ad structure: Bria rebuilds a flat ad as a positioned document, charges 24 Sparks per request regardless of layer count, and lets text become either editable font-based copy or exact SVG letterforms.
- Editable Layers · Qwen exposes generation controls: Qwen creates a layered document with a configurable 2–8 layer target, inference steps, guidance, seed, negative prompt, format, acceleration, and an optional separate editable-text pass.
- Independent Assets · Seedream has no layout map: Seedream returns a base image and independently cropped assets. It supports decomposition guidance, size, and base format, but cannot open as a positioned editor document because the endpoint supplies no placement coordinates.
- One control surface appears twice: The expanded node card and the properties sidebar render the same ImageLayersControls component, so engine-specific options and prices stay aligned.
Steps
- Add Image Layers and connect the flat source image.
- Open Layer engine and choose Structured Ad · Bria, Editable Layers · Qwen, or Independent Assets · Seedream based on whether you need positioned ad editing, a tunable document, or separate crops.
- For Bria, confirm the input is at most 800 pixels on each side; larger ads are blocked rather than silently downscaled.
- For Bria text, choose Editable font when copy must change, or Exact SVG when preserving the original letterforms matters more than text editing.
- For Qwen, decide whether Separate text should run, then set guidance text, optional organization/Google font choices, 2–8 Layers, 4–50 Steps, Guidance 1–20, Negative Prompt, Seed, PNG/WebP, and None/Regular/High acceleration.
- For Seedream, write an optional decomposition prompt of up to 5,000 characters, choose Auto, 1K, 1.5K, or 2K, and choose JPEG or PNG.
- For Bria or Qwen, leave Make children absolute on when every layer and text block should be freely movable; turn it off when preserving the imported subtree is more useful.
- When a Design System is connected, choose whether its Colors, Fonts, and Sizing apply to extracted text. Bitmap layers themselves are not restyled.
- Run the node and read any amber layer notes. A refused split can still produce a document containing the original image.
- For Bria or Qwen, choose Open in editor for direct document editing or Edit in Designer for an AI-assisted page wired back to the node. Seedream outputs continue as independent assets instead.
Engine comparison
- Bria: positioned ad document, 24 Sparks per request, any returned layer count, editable-font or exact-SVG text mode, 800 × 800 maximum input boundary.
- Qwen: positioned layered document, optional paid text-separation pass, 2–8 layers, 4–50 steps, guidance 1–20, seed, negative prompt, PNG/WebP, three acceleration choices.
- Seedream: independent cropped assets, cost shown per delivered output, Auto/1K/1.5K/2K, JPEG/PNG, no placement coordinates and therefore no editor document.
Text and design systems
- Qwen’s Separate text pass extracts editable HTML before image layering.
- Four optional Qwen font slots—H1, H2, Body, and Small—can be filled directly or from organization/Google font pickers.
- A connected Design System may recolor text, swap its fonts, and optionally apply its type scale; sizing is off by default because it can move the layout.
- Bria Exact SVG prioritizes visual fidelity; Editable font prioritizes copy changes.
Opened surfaces
- Open in editor imports the positioned layers document for direct layout, type, and motion work.
- Edit in Designer opens the same HTML as a Designer page connected to the source node.
- Seedream deliberately disables the editor door and explains “Independent assets — no layout data”.
Tips
- Use Bria for a finished ad whose text/layout relationship matters, Qwen for general layer control, and Seedream when downstream nodes need object crops rather than a reconstructed page.
- Turn on Make children absolute before a freeform rearrangement; leave Design System Sizing off until you are ready to check text reflow.
Limitations and important notes
- Bria rejects inputs larger than 800 pixels on either side.
- Seedream’s final cost follows the number of delivered assets and it cannot reconstruct source placement.
- Design System controls affect extracted text, not bitmap pixels.
Troubleshooting
Open in editor is disabled.
Seedream has no layout coordinates, another editor may be busy, or the node has not produced a document yet. Use independent asset outputs for Seedream.
Text does not look exactly like the source ad.
With Bria choose Exact SVG for traced letterforms; with Qwen review font overrides and the connected Design System settings.
Bria refuses the source image.
Resize the ad so neither side exceeds 800 pixels, then reconnect the resized output. Bria intentionally does not downscale it automatically.
