Open the Image Editor from the graph, card, or sidebar

Choose between an empty Image Editor node, a right-click prewired editor, and the card/sidebar actions on an existing editor document.

Key ideas

Add-menu entry: Image & Vector → Image Editor creates a Layer Compose node that can receive images through its typed inputs.
Image-aware right click: With exactly one image-yielding node selected, Image Editor creates a Layer Compose node and wires the source image into it.
Existing-node actions: The card exposes Edit Canvas and thumbnail Edit/Open Image Editor; the sidebar exposes Edit Composition/Open Canvas Editor.
Global and link routes: The canvas wires openMediaGenLayerComposer(nodeId), and editor links can reopen supported nodes through the node/open=editor route.

Use Add when composing from scratch or several inputs.
Use right-click → Image Editor when one existing image should seed the new document automatically.
Select an existing Image Editor and open it from the card or properties sidebar.
After editing, save/close and confirm the node thumbnail/output updated before continuing.

Use the right-click action when provenance and automatic wiring matter.
Use a separate Image Editor node for a distinct edit branch instead of overwriting an unrelated composition.
