Tell the Dashboard Brain browser apart from a project’s Flowgen Brain panel, and use Dashboard Assets to find, upload, organize, and retrieve shared media.
Where: Dashboard sidebar → Brain or Assets/Media; the exact label depends on the active Dashboard mode.
Key ideas
- Dashboard Brain is a browser room: The Dashboard Brain destination is a dedicated browser for reusable Brain records such as Persona, Brand, Business profile, Document, Dataset, Product, Character, Place, and Skill, not just the narrow Brain tab inside a Flowgen canvas library.
- Dashboard Assets is broader than the editor’s Assets panel: The Dashboard Asset Browser manages workspace media across projects. Its current surface includes folder scope, type/tag filtering, sort, grid/list, upload, and more actions; an editor’s Assets panel is scoped to the active workspace and its node/canvas interactions.
- Dashboard layouts can move destinations: The three Dashboard work modes use different navigation and content layouts. A collapsed rail or alternate mode may place the same destination behind a compact icon or another navigation group.
- Recently added is a shortcut, not the full project library: The Dashboard’s recent-project summary surfaces recently changed work; use Projects and its filters/search when you need the full organization, archived/trash scopes, or project-type list.
Steps
- Open the Dashboard and identify the active work mode. Expand the left navigation rail if labels are hidden.
- Choose Brain to browse and manage reusable records. Set the location scope to Shared with me, This location, or All accessible; filter by record kind or search by name, then open the record to review its fields and references.
- Use Guided brand setup when you want a guided Brand draft; use Add to the Brain to create a record directly. Saving a Brand here does not automatically link it to every project.
- Choose Assets to browse workspace media. Search within the current folder or change the search/filter scope; filter by type/tag, choose a sort order, and switch grid/list as needed.
- Use Upload for supported media. Use the item actions to preview, download, organize, or remove media; check workspace/record permissions before changing shared items.
- Before deleting or moving a shared asset, check whether a project, Brand, or listing relies on it. Prefer opening the item or its source project when provenance is unclear.
- Use Recently added for a quick return to recent projects. Open Projects for the full list, and change scope/filter when looking for another type, folder, archive, or trash item.
- For project-local media and canvas assets, open the project and use its own Assets/Library surface; do not assume the Dashboard browser is the current node’s connection picker.
Which surface should I use?
- Reusable Brand, memory, or reference record → Dashboard Brain; connect/link it from the project when you need its fields in work.
- Workspace-wide uploaded media → Dashboard Assets/Media.
- Media output/version tied to a node or active canvas → the project’s Flowgen Library/Assets panel.
- A source image needed by a specific input → use the node’s typed image field/connection workflow, not merely a Dashboard upload.
Brain record scope and asset scope
- Record location scope: Shared with me, This location, or All accessible; “This location” includes inherited items you can access and individual shares.
- Visible built-in record kinds include Persona, Brand, Business profile, Document, Dataset, Product, Character, Place, and Skill; custom kinds can be created with their own fields.
- Brain records are structured knowledge that an assistant or project may retrieve; fields and references can have different roles.
- Asset Browser files are media objects. Uploading a file does not automatically turn it into a Brand reference or connect it to a project.
- A project Brand link is an explicit project-level setting. Confirm which Brand is linked before trusting brand-derived generation.
Tips
- Use Dashboard Brain to curate reusable records, then link the selected record at the project level.
- Use the in-editor Library when you need to place or connect an asset directly on the canvas.
- If an item seems missing, confirm the active organization/workspace and clear filters before uploading a duplicate.
Limitations and important notes
- Dashboard rail labels, grouping, and recency sections vary by work mode and viewport.
- Available media types, permissions, and delete behavior depend on the workspace and item ownership.
- This guide is intentionally separate from the Flowgen Brain panel and editor Assets panel guides.
Troubleshooting
I see no Brain or Assets label in the rail.
Expand the collapsed rail, check the active Dashboard work mode, and inspect its navigation groups. Some destinations are hidden behind an icon or a mode-specific tab.
My upload is not available as a Brand reference.
An Asset Browser upload is only a media asset. Open the Brand record and add/tag the file as a reference, then link that Brand to the intended project.
I cannot find an older project in Recently added.
Open Projects and search the full project list; the recent summary is not an exhaustive archive or trash view.
