Create a 3D model from one or more reference images or a text description, then choose topology, quality, materials, textures, and file output.
Where: Flowgen → Add → 3D → 3D Model Generation
Key ideas
- Two generation modes: Image to 3D uses connected reference images and a selected fal model; Text to 3D uses the legacy text route and the written description.
- Model-dependent references: Rodin routes accept up to five reference images; other current image routes use the first connected image.
- Production controls: Depending on the route, configure topology, quality/tier, alpha, seed, GLB/USDZ/FBX/OBJ/STL output, material, mesh quality, texture mode, creative/HD/delight/micro/T-pose/bounds/high-pack options.
- Versioned model output: The node keeps versions, previews the model/thumbnail, can create an animated variant, and emits the chosen 3D file downstream.
- 3D Model Generation card: ModelGenerationNode uses the generic shared-card path. Generate a versioned 3D model from text or one/more reference images.
- Properties sidebar: editNodes.tsx
- Opened surfaces: 3D model preview
- Ordered multi-view input: Reference Images accepts up to eight connected images in edge order; the chosen provider maps or clamps them to its named view contract. The UI shows used versus connected counts and labels each accepted view.
- Expanded 3D routes: Current image routes include Tripo H3.1, Hunyuan 3D Pro, Meshy v6/v7, Rodin 2.5, and Hi3D single/multi-view where offered by the live picker.
Steps
- Choose Image to 3D or Text to 3D and connect the appropriate references, description, and optional design system.
- Choose the route and only the controls supported by it; set the final geometry format before generation.
- Generate and inspect silhouette, topology, texture seams, material response, scale, and back/occluded areas in the model preview.
- Choose the useful version, optimize it when necessary, then connect it to a 3D Scene or save/download it.
- Connect consistent views in the provider's displayed order, then confirm the used count before generating.
3D Model Generation controls and presets
- Add path: Flowgen → Add → 3D → 3D Model Generation.
- Card: ModelGenerationNode.
- Properties: editNodes.tsx.
- Controls: Text/Image to 3D; model; topology/quality; Rodin options; alpha/seed; formats; material/textures; animation.
- Opened surfaces: 3D model preview.
Reference limits by route
- Tripo H3.1: up to four ordered Front, Left, Back, Right views.
- Hunyuan 3D Pro: up to eight named Front, Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom, Left-front, Right-front views.
- Meshy v6/v7: up to four views of the same subject.
- Rodin 2.5/Fast: up to five ordered views.
- Single-view routes use only the first and report extra connected references.
Tips
- Use multiple consistent angles when the selected Rodin route supports them.
- Generate first, then use Optimize 3D to target a delivery budget instead of over-constraining the first model.
Limitations and important notes
- Available settings and reference count change with the selected model.
- Generated topology, geometry, and textures require visual inspection before production use.
