Control playback without losing editing context: play or pause, jump to the composition boundaries, move between keyframes, and loop a section while reviewing motion, timing, or audio.
Where: Studio mode → Timeline → transport controls
Key ideas
- Transport is non-destructive: Playback and playhead navigation do not change keyframes, clips, duration, or selection.
- Keyframe navigation: Previous/next keyframe navigation moves to authored timing landmarks, which is faster and more precise than dragging the playhead.
- Looped review: Loop keeps playback repeating so easing, seams, lip sync, and short motion beats can be judged several times.
Steps
- Open the Studio timeline and confirm the intended timeline or precomposition in the breadcrumb/switcher.
- Press Space or use Play to start and pause at the current playhead.
- Use Home/End to review the beginning or end, and comma/period to jump to the previous or next keyframe.
- Enable Loop with L when a motion beat needs repeated review, then disable it before checking the full composition.
- After review, select the affected keyframes or clips and make timing changes with the appropriate edit tool.
Shortcut reference
- Space: play/pause.
- Home / End: jump to the beginning/end.
- , / .: previous/next keyframe.
- L: toggle loop.
Tips
- Pause on a keyframe before editing a value so the canvas and inspector show the authored state.
- Use loop for a short diagnostic pass, then review from the true beginning to catch entrance and reset behavior.
Troubleshooting
Previous/next keyframe skips the point you expected
Confirm the active timeline/precomposition and whether the expected point is a real keyframe rather than only a clip edge or interaction trigger.
