Duration & FPS

The timeline’s duration either auto-tracks the longest layer (a green “auto” badge) or is locked to a fixed length; the FPS preset sets the frame grid for stepping and quantization.

Where: Studio timeline → header — Open the timeline header

Key ideas

• Auto vs locked: Auto grows the timeline to the longest layer; lock it to a fixed number of seconds when you want a set length.
• FPS: Pick 24 / 25 / 30 / 50 / 60 — it drives frame stepping (PageUp/Down) and keyframe quantization.

Steps

1. Open the timeline header.
2. Leave duration on Auto, or lock it to a fixed length.
3. Set the FPS preset to match your target output.
