Apply a complete keyframe package to one selected Focus timeline clip, then review its timing and switch to Studio only when the generated keyframes need property-level refinement.

Key ideas
- Preset replaces clip keyframes: The chosen Motion preset becomes the selected clip’s keyframe package; it is not merely layered invisibly on top of the current clip animation.
- Editorial presets: Fade in, fade out, fade in/out, Ken Burns, slide in from left/up, and pop provide common entrances, exits, and image movement.
- One selected clip: Motion is available when exactly one compatible clip is selected so the replacement target is unambiguous.
Steps
- Finish the clip’s rough in/out timing and select exactly one clip in the Focus timeline.
- Open Motion and choose the preset that matches the editorial purpose.
- Play the full clip, including the frames immediately before its start and after its end.
- Trim or move the clip if the preset begins or ends at the wrong story beat.
- Switch to Studio only when you need to inspect or tune the generated property keyframes and easing.

System clipboard and shared presets
Timeline keyframes use the system clipboard, so later copies in other apps take precedence. Focus and Studio share searchable motion presets with duration and Clip edge/Playhead placement. Negative keyframe handling and first-frame sets after timeline construction are corrected.
Tips
- Duplicate a clip or timeline before replacing carefully tuned keyframes.
- Choose motion for narrative purpose: entrance, exit, emphasis, or continuous image movement.
Troubleshooting
The Motion menu is unavailable
Select exactly one compatible clip. A lane, multiple clips, or an empty timeline selection cannot receive one replacement preset.
