Generate one 2:1 panorama, look around in the interactive sphere viewer, compare the flat equirectangular strip, and connect it as an image or environment source.
Where: Flowgen → Add → Image & Vector → Generate → 360 Panorama.
Before you start
- Connect or author a specific scene description in a Text source; connect reference images only when they clarify the intended place or style.
Key ideas
- Panorama is a projection, not a normal portrait image: The node adds projection-specific guidance (seamless horizontal edges, complete vertical coverage, and no fisheye) unless the prompt already asks for a panorama. The output is one 2:1 equirectangular image.
- Look mode is an interactive view: Drag the viewer to inspect the sphere. Flat shows the underlying 2:1 strip, which makes seams and pole distortion easier to review.
- The image can become a 3D environment: Connect image_out to a compatible image input or use it as an environment/HDRI source in a 3D scene.
- 360 Panorama card: PanoramaImageNode uses the authored shared-card path. Generate a 2:1 equirectangular panorama with a seamless projection prelude, then inspect it by looking around or viewing the flat strip.
- Properties sidebar: NodePropertiesPanel.tsx
- Opened surfaces: Interactive panorama viewer; flat equirectangular preview; image lightbox; version history
Steps
- Add 360 Panorama and connect any reference images to its image reference input.
- Put the scene brief in a connected Text source (or the linked Brand’s compatible field when it is reusable Brand direction) and connect it to the prompt field.
- Choose the current image model and review the prompt preview. If the brief already specifies an equirectangular/360 panorama, the node avoids adding a duplicate projection prelude.
- Generate the image and inspect it in Look mode by dragging around the sphere.
- Switch to Flat to inspect the full strip, especially the left/right seam and top/bottom poles. Switch back to Look to judge the environment as a place.
- Open the result full size when needed. Connect image_out to a 3D environment input or another image-consuming node.
Card and shared generation controls
- The card uses the shared image-generation model, quote, run, and version controls.
- The 360-specific viewer is the result stage; its secondary action toggles Look/Flat and the full-size button opens the image lightbox.
- The camera direction is stored (yaw, pitch, and field of view) so the view can be restored.
- Reference images are inputs; the generated panorama is the output.
Reviewing projection quality
- In Flat mode, inspect whether the left/right edges join without a visible seam.
- Look around near the poles to catch stretched or fisheye-like details.
- In Look mode, check whether the horizon and objects remain coherent as you rotate.
- If the viewer cannot decode a remote asset, use the flat preview fallback and open the full-size image to confirm the result.
360 Panorama controls and presets
- Add path: Flowgen → Add → Image & Vector → Generate → 360 Panorama.
- Card: PanoramaImageNode.
- Properties: NodePropertiesPanel.tsx.
- Controls: Connected prompt and reference images; model and generation settings; Look/Flat view; drag camera; yaw/pitch/FOV; open full size; versions.
- Opened surfaces: Interactive panorama viewer; flat equirectangular preview; image lightbox; version history.
Tips
- Describe a continuous place and camera intent; isolated objects at the left/right edges are likely to create a seam.
- Check the panorama in both modes before wiring it into an environment.
Limitations and important notes
- The result is one static image, not a 3D mesh or a navigable scene file.
- Projection quality depends on the image model; inspect seams and poles before delivery.
- Live model and pricing availability can change.
Troubleshooting
The viewer shows a flat strip or loading state.
Wait for the image to load; if remote decoding is blocked, use Flat mode or open the full-size lightbox.
The seam is obvious.
Revise the source brief to describe a continuous environment and request matching left/right edges, then generate another version.
The node does not add panorama guidance.
The prompt may already explicitly request the projection; the node avoids duplicating that prelude.
