Use a PDF Document input in Flowgen

Upload or select a PDF and expose it as a typed document source for research, context, extraction, or another compatible node.

Upload or select a PDF and expose it as a typed document source for research, context, extraction, or another compatible node.

Where: Flowgen → Add → Bring in → PDF Document

Key ideas

Document input card: The native-fullscreen card owns PDF upload, filename/source metadata, and document preview; the common sidebar does not duplicate those controls.
Typed PDF result: A PDF output connects only to nodes/handles that accept the document type; use Context or extraction/analysis when downstream text is required.
Opened surfaces: Use Asset Browser for an existing project file and the PDF/fullscreen preview to inspect the actual document.
PDF Document card: PdfInputNode uses the native-fullscreen shared-card path. Bring a PDF document into the graph through a typed document output.
Properties sidebar: Card-owned upload controls; common properties shell
Opened surfaces: Asset Browser; PDF/fullscreen preview

Steps

Add PDF Document and upload or choose the intended file.
Open the preview and verify pages, orientation, legibility, and whether the PDF contains extractable text.
Connect the PDF output to a compatible document/context/research step.
Add OCR or extraction where a scanned PDF must become usable text.

PDF Document controls and presets

Add path: Flowgen → Add → Inputs → PDF Document.
Card: PdfInputNode.
Properties: Card-owned upload controls; common properties shell.
Controls: PDF upload; filename/source metadata.
Opened surfaces: Asset Browser; PDF/fullscreen preview.

Limitations and important notes

A scanned/image-only PDF may need OCR or visual analysis before text consumers can use its contents.
